According to the Merriam-Webster Webster dictionary, possession is defined as “something owned, occupied, or controlled.” This definition is the reason I had such a tough struggle searching for the answer to this assignment. It is just too vague a definition and leaves so many options open.
I finally decided to settle with a general answer to fulfill this seemingly general and broad definition. The “object” I chose is my bedroom and everything that contributes to its “personality.” My room is decorated in a most tranquilizing Hawaiian theme. When I find something that would add pizzazz to my get-away I must have it.
Walls in my room are draped in lime green with navy blue murals that remind one of the big island. My front blind is made of bamboo stalks and my back curtains are a deep navy blue. Adding to the beauty of the room, is when night falls and the room comes to life. In the room is a light up palm tree, many globe lanterns of a lime green and navy blue hue, and some surf board lights. Of course, I can’t put actual sand in my room but I do have beige carpet that feels like the sand between toes on a beach. Above my sleeping head is a unique set of native tongue. Painted on the wall are the words for “family, love, and thanks” because those are values I firmly believe in.
My possession is not a specific object. It’s not something you can hold. The latest trend or fashion is not of the essence. When it comes to my favorite possession, my room has top honors.

My most prized possession would have to be my Ipod. I use it almost everyday whether im running or just sitting in my room. My Ipod is full of songs that reflect my life and who I am. The music I listen too reflects my mood a lot! Usually when im mad I listen to something like Underoath, Three Days Grace, or Ani DiFranco. When I work out I listen to upbeat and fast songs to keep my energy levels up so I can work harder and faster. Some of them by Rihanna, Underoath, Blindside, Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert, and Pink. A lot of the artists I listen most people don’t care for very much and because of the fact that I listen too them shows a lot about who I am. Many of the songs have significant meaning to me or they reflect my mood well. My friends usually make fun of my favorite artist because shes a little crazy. She doesn’t sing about normal things, she actually sings about the many things going on in our world such as abortion and war. I think that because she does this it makes me listen too her more, and most of the songs on my Ipod are by her. Some of the songs my friends and I absolutely love and we dance together and have a really good time when we get together and listen to music.

My most prized possession would have to be my ipod. I know most teens would say their cell phone or sidekick but music is really important to me. Surprisingly a person can learn quite a bit just by paying attention to what I listen to. Music is unbelievably amazing to me because there’s really no limit to the amount or genre of a song. Every song gets to me in some way. I listen to different types of songs for different types of moods. For example, when I want to get hyped up for a volleyball game or for a night out I’ll listen to a fast paced song like rap or hip hop. When I’m down or upset I’ll listen to a song that I can relate to, usually a slow song but not what they play at dances. Sometimes I’m even in the mood for any type of music so I’ll put my ipod on shuffle mode and just let it play random songs. If I’m listening to music when I work out, most of the time it’s a song with the words “push it” or words that motivate me because if I’m not motivated I won’t finish my workout! Numerous songs even remind me of my past memories. Awhile back, when I’d go to my dad’s there’d be certain songs that my dad, brother, and I would all know the words by heart. Every time the song came on we’d go crazy singing it at the top of our lungs.

My most prized possession is my Play Station two. I’ve had it for five and a half years and bought it the day I moved to Ohio. My Play Station two is my favorite thing because it’s the one thing I can do all the time. When I get home I can play, or when it’s cold or rainy I can play. It is also very entertaining and keeps me occupied when I have nothing better to do. Also having a Play Station two is good for days when no ones home or around to play around with, I can play Play Station instead of watching TV. Which is a little bit better I think because I have to think while I’m playing and it increases hand eye coordination. Also the varieties of things to do on my play station two have a few options. First I can watch movies, and listen to music. Second the varieties of games to play are endless. There are games ranging from sports like football, baseball, and basketball to games like Splinter Cell, which is a type of army game. Games can reach from army, to fighting, to pretending to play a guitar. And the play station two is especially useful on days when it is bad outside because it’s multiplayer. Because it is multiplayer it allows up to four people to play at a time. When this happens sports games become more fun and adds more of a challenge to the game being played. No matter what the weather is like, or if anyone is around to be with the play station two is my favorite thing because I can play it no matter what.

My most prize possesion of all times would be my ipod. I use it every single day no matter what i'm doing. If its running, jogging, biking, or just taking a walk, I always have my ipod with me. Usually I use my ipod for some kind of entertainment. It doesn't really contradict with my mood. Some of the songs on my ipod include artists like Rihanna, Hannah Montana, High School Musical 2, and Rascal Flatts. These artists are the ones that I listen to the most. They usually have an upbeat tempo to them so I can jump around in my room or dance outside in the yard, or even on my trampoline. Some of these songs my friends and I can jump around together and listen to, but other times they think that they are annoying so they usually just leave me be and they don't say anything. But, they also listen to the music that they don't like also, because as long as it gives them something to do, they really don't care. I also like it because it is portable. I absolutely disapprove of carrying things around with me. I love having a carrying case that i can just snap it to my belt loop and doing whatever I wanted to do with it. I also love it so that way I don't have to stay locked up in my room or anywhere else in the house and I can go outside and enjoy the outdoors. I love my ipod dearly. It is so fun to have and to cherish the music on it.

Most Teens list cell phones, ipods, and other technological things as their most prized posession. Yes I do love my ipod, but there is something else that really sticks out in my mind. My most prized posession is something that I have had since I was born. It started out as a teddy bear sheet that was in my crib. Now it has turned into a thin, fuzzy knot. That posession would be my blankie. Some people may ask, "why does a fifteen-year old still have a blankie??" Here is why. Whenever I am having a bad day, or just plain stressed out, I curl up on my bed with my little blankie and take a few deep breathes. Believe it or not, it makes me feel one-hundred times better. It's kind of like a stuffed animal. I use it for comfort because my blankie has been with me all of my life. With my parents being divorced, I took it back and forth wherever i went. One time I left it at the wrong house, and had to go get it at twelve o'clock at night because i could not sleep without it!! My poor blankie has been through every weather condition possible; even my dog got a hold of it! I still have a little trouble washing it because I am afraid that it might fall apart. Although I don't suck on my thumb anymore, there are a few childish habits that I still have. My blankie is one of those habits. However, i have no intention of changing that anytime soon
